Julia grew up in Dallas and became well-versed in philosophy, art,
pre-med, and psychology at Texas A&M Commerce and the University of Texas at Dallas, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Medical Illustration along the way.
She went on to medical school only to discover that it was not exactly her cup of tea. After making the difficult decision to leave what seemed like her dream, she dusted herself off and did some serious soul-searching. In the process, Julia rediscovered her calling to be a psychotherapist – to help people get to the core of their problems. She also gained life experience (and did some major traveling) while working in marketing and psychiatric research. After completing all of the coursework toward her Master of Science degree in Counseling at the University of North Texas, she became a graduate intern at the LifeWorks Group in January.
Julia works with individuals, couples and families and especially
enjoys helping people get to the root of difficult and often painful
problems to find healing, authenticity and peace. As an individual who
spent much time searching for her own calling, Julia enjoys helping
people find meaning and purpose in both vocation and life.
Julia lives in Fort Worth with her significant other, Ryan, and their
two Corgis, Evie and Opal. When not at work in the Fort Worth office,
she spends her free time outdoors running with the dogs, riding her
bike, or getting yelled at by her fitness boot camp trainer. She
continues to make art and has even been able to get creative with her
clients using art therapy techniques. Fulfilling her role as a
“lifetime student,” she will soon continue her education at the
University of North Texas as a doctoral student.
