Chris Jones grew up in a small town south of the metroplex. He has managed to remain close to his small town roots (really— he even owns an RV) and enjoys a relaxed lifestyle with his smart, pretty wife (we think he over-achieved) and his two terrific daughters.

After receiving his Bachelors in psychology from Baylor, Chris stuck around for his Master’s Degree in psychology, which he completed in 1994. In 1997, Chris co-founded Adventures In Achievement, Inc. Chris directed company growth as its ROPES course and experiential workshops and the company became a major provider to student leadership programs and at-risk youth. In 2006, his efforts merged with Excelleration, LLC to become a leader of strategic team development for corporations.

Chris has spent many years working in a variety of clinical settings with adolescents and adults persons on probation or parole, and those with more severe issues such as major depression, bipolar disorder, and histories of abuse. The LifeWorks Group was lucky enough to snag Chris in 2006 to tackle these tricky cases – especially those involving the greatest force of nature, the adolescent.

When it comes to specialties, we made Chris narrow it down to three:

Last stop before boarding school

Chris has a successful history working with teenagers who’ve survived abuse, feel anxious, have ADHD or are struggling to adjust to a life-changing event such as change in schools or parents’ divorce. He can also help with the extremely moody teenager. We send him the ones who have sagging grades, sagging pants, depression, and possible drug use – the kids who speak in one word sentences unless they’re yelling at their parents. His unique skill is helping parents who are making one final stand against the really tough kid. Bring in the adolescent who is violent, truant, runs away, is oppositional and threatens suicide. Chris ain’t scared.

Is this the whole enchilada?

Chris has a knack for helping the young professional, age 20 –30ish, who is trying to adjust to a real job, real relationship, first time parenting, professional success, and “Is this really what I want to do for the rest of my life?” When the Dallas scene has played out and dissolved into the monotony called the early adult years, Chris gets it. He works with individuals, couples and almost-couples to help them find direction in this difficult time.

Chaos and Drama

If other therapists have thrown up their hands, Chris wants a shot at it. He’s our go-to dude for major depression, bipolar disorder, out of control anger, probation, parole, borderline personality, narcissistic personality, and sexual abuse recovery.

In addition to being an LPC and an LPC supervisor, Chris functions as the clinical director of our Ft. Worth office, though he sees most of his cases in Dallas. If you can't find him in the office or on the ROPES course he is likely off running a marathon, triathlon, some-type-of-thon, or keeping a seat warm at Texas Motor Speedway.

Chris charges $100 for a 50 minute session. Occasionally, 90 minute sessions are recommended for extremely difficult cases. The fee for a 90 minute session is $150.
